A Weekend in the Cotswolds

A few weeks ago we headed off to the cotswolds for a weekend away to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Despite it raining for the first day and a half that we were there, we had an incredible 3 days together and enjoyed soaking up all of the beautiful scenery.

We stayed in a lovely little cottage in the tiny village of Minchinhampton, with Cotswold stone walls and floors, a quirky layout across 5 different levels, and a beautiful fireplace (which sadly we didn’t have the time to use!)

We browsed the motoring museum and model railway in Bourton-on-the-Water, explored the old Bread Mill in Lower Slaughter, wandered through Broadway and fed the ducks in Bibury. We also discovered the World’s tastiest fudge in Stow-on-the-Wold, and went on a little adventure in Woodchester Park, which involved a see-saw, wooden swing, and a very steep hill.

My camera has decided to no longer work for me, so most of my photos from the weekend are blurred and out of focus, but I thought I’d share a small selection anyway as the Cotswolds is just too beautiful not to.
(And if you have any recommendations for an affordable camera for me, I’d love to know! We have some other trips coming up and I’d love to get some better photos from them!)

While many of my photos are a little blurred, I’ve still got lots of material to draw from, so I’ll have some Cotswold themed illustrations ready to share very soon!

Before we left for the weekend, we also met up with our lovely friends and photographers at our wedding venue for an anniversary photo shoot. We’ve got the photos back now and I’m just going through and choosing which ones to share. I’m so excited to share them with you in a post very soon! (You can see a few previews on my Instagram in the mean time)
