So I've been promising this for weeks and today I am finally sharing the tour of my studio in our new house!
The studio is actually the loft room of the house, accessed via our bedroom. When we moved in it had the dirtiest old carpet, bright blue walls, and horrible pine-coloured wood work. Its taken a lot of work, but its now been transformed in to my dream work room, with bright white walls, all of my favourite things, and lots of lovely plants (and of course a new, fresh carpet)
Throughout the process of bringing this room together, I went through several ideas for the layout, colour scheme and furniture choices. I settled on a fresh green and white palette with an emphasis on plants & nature, and made desk space a priority. The green paint is Mellow Sage by Crown, mixed up 50/50 with white to make a bit lighter & brighter. I've reused our old Ikea dining table as my main desk, and a smaller Ikea Micke desk for some extra storage and to house the printer. The desk chair, shelves, and book-case are new purchases, also from Ikea (If you can't tell, I'm a fan of Ikea for office furniture)
I bought a selection of storage boxes from (guess what) Ikea, Tiger & Asda Living, and gave some of them a coat of paint in either the Mellow Sage colour or plain white. I had so much fun unpacking all of my boxes and organising everything, I had no idea how many drawing materials I have (those mini chests of drawers are all full of pens and pencils!) and I'm so pleased to have all of my lovely design books and sketchbooks back!
The hanging frames are from Matalan and contain some of drawings from #the100dayproject, and the frame for my mood board was an Amazon purchase (but I've since discovered a more affordable alternative here). The small shelving unit on the wall was a Christmas present from Mum & Dad from Maisons du Monde (similar here) and the book rack is from Hema.
If you'd like to know where anything else is from, let me know in the comments!
I'm so thrilled with how this room has come together and all I've wanted to do over the last few weeks is be up here working! I've been wanting a dedicated work space for years, but its never been possible in our tiny rented flats, so this has completely transformed my working day and I couldn't be happier with it!
What do you think?
