WEBB WEDDING II
Today I've got the next instalment of our beautiful wedding photos from White Stag Weddings. Last time I shared the images from our morning preparations, and today I'm sharing the ones from our ceremony & drinks reception...
Our ceremony was held at the charming Ulcombe Village Hall in Kent Life, Maidstone. We transformed the hall with lots of hand-made decorations, chiavari chairs, and stunning florals by Lisa from Heather & Wood. I made a crepe paper leaf garland out of hundreds of hand-cut leaves, and we hung them across the ceiling along with string of fairy lights. There's a beautiful decorative arch at Kent Life, which Lisa covered in gorgeous flowers and foliage, and we hung glass bottles on the ends of each aisle which she filled with pretty blooms. I also created illustrated posters, quotes, signs and an order of service which we placed on each chair, but I'll share those along with the stationery in a separate post!
Andy Nash kept our guests entertained with some lovely acoustic guitar whilst I ran nearly half an hour late! I eventually arrived in a 1930s style white Beauford from Steve's Wedding Automobiles (which Jamie had arrived in nearly 2 hours earlier). Our flower girl, Amara, led the way in scattering petals from her flower basket, followed by my stunning Maid of Honour and Bridesmaid, Natalia and Fran. We walked in to an acoustic version of 'Nobody Does it Better' played by Andy. I chose it after Jamie told me that it always reminds him of me, and he's a James Bond fan too so it was a perfect fit as its one of the theme tunes! Jamie had the sweetest emotional reaction when I walked in (one of my absolute favourite moments of the day) and barely stopped crying by the end of the ceremony!
We laughed, smiled and cried our way through the whole ceremony and loved every second of it. I especially love our "woah, we're getting married" faces in the next picture! We had 2 lovely readings during the ceremony: Fran read 'Union' by Robert Fulgham, and Jamie's Nana & Grandpa read 'Blessing of the Hands'. We loved hearing some of our favourite people speak for us, and it made it all feel even more personal. By the end of the ceremony, Jamie was still struggling to hold back the tears, and when the registrar asked him "would you like to kiss your bride?" he very enthusiastically shouted "yes please!"
We walked out to 'Nancy Mulligan' by Ed Sheeran, again played by Andy Nash. It was such a fun moment to be introduced as 'Mr & Mrs', and by that point there really was no wiping that grin off my face!
We walked out of the hall to all of our guests throwing confetti in our faces, and begun what became an afternoon full of hugs and laughs! It really is so special seeing everyone you love at the same time, and knowing they're all there for you! We were served Bucks Fizz and glasses of Pimms, along with lots of lovely canapés (although being the bride, I only got one of those as I was so busy talking to everyone and having pictures taken!)
During the drinks reception we disappeared with the bridal party and immediate families for a few formal group shots. Catherine & Andy did a great job getting through these quickly and captured all the fun moments in between the shots too. I'm a huge fan of all the candid shots and would generally choose them over posed ones, but its not often everyone looks this lovely all at once so its a lovely opportunity to get some photos of everyone together! And of course, we couldn't have asked for a better backdrop than the pretty pink chapel at Kent Life! We weren't able to have the ceremony in there as it was too small for our guests, but that pink matched our theme perfectly so we absolutely had to use it in our photos!
I absolutely loved my dress (Essense of Australia from Isabella Grace Bridal) and I wish I could wear it every day, but I have to admit I didn't quite think through the combination of delicate tulle train with a farm venue! Catherine spent so long pulling twigs, leaves and even berries out of my dress for the photos, and even Amara joined in and loved acting as my little assistant helping me with my dress all day!
